LINE TO LAUNCH ‘LINE PAY MONEY’ DIGITAL WALLET APP IN TAIWAN
Line Pay will launch a standalone digital wallet app, Line Pay Money, in Taiwan, replacing its reliance on the third-party iPass Money service upon the contract's expiration in December. Approved in July for standalone e-payments by the Financial Supervisory Commission, the new app lets users top up balances via bank transfers or other platforms and is expected to attract around 10 million downloads within 48 hours of launch.
